Burning a disk

When you have completed your assessments of the images and video, press the DISK VIEW button. This will show you the material you have just assessed. You can add more images to this list at any time by going back into the Media view. You can also remove images from the Disk view by pressing the blue cross to discard the image/clip. The image/clip will be removed from the Disk view and will be returned to the Media page.

To edit any of the assessed images/clips, simply click on the thumbnail to load the image into the metadata edit view. You can change any of the details here. Simply click the green ‘Accept’ button when you’ve finished and the record will be updated. If you change your mind after you’ve made a few changes, simply go back to the Disk View and the record will remain unchanged.

It is also worth knowing that after you have assessed one set of images from a camera, flash card or USB stick, you can now remove it to assess more images. The first set of images will be stored within RECLAIM until you either press the ‘CLEAR DISK VIEW’ or burn the images to disk. If you now add and assess more images from other devices, they will simply be added to the images/clips already in the DISK view.

A Disk Usage indicator will let you know how much room you have left on your CD/DVD disk. You will be informed if you will need to use more than one CD/DVD to burn all of the images.

Insert your Blank CD/DVD if you haven’t done so. Then click the ‘Write to Disk’ button and follow the on screen instructions. Depending on what model of laptop you have been supplied with, RECLAIM will be set up to work with the available hardware. This means that at the point where it is ready to burn a disk, it will either ask you for a blank CD or DVD disk depending on the type of drive available in the laptop.

This version of RELCLAIM is requesting a blank CD disk
