Once the images/video clips have been loaded
into RECLAIM you will notice that they all appear with a grey
surround. This means that the images are currently in their
default state; they are waiting be assessed. You will also
notice that RECLAIM gives each of the images and video clips
a name in white beneath the thumbnail image. This is the name
that your digital camera gave to the image. RECLAIM displays
the images/video clips in reverse date order. The first image
(top left) is the oldest picture on the Camera, the last picture
at the bottom of the list is the most recent.

has found
Before you go on to inspect your pictures
and video clips in more detail you can decide at this stage
if you would like to discard any material now. This might
be useful if you can see that a large number of your images/clips
are duplicates or if they are of too poor quality to bother
including in your assessment. To discard
an image/video clip simply click on the blue cross icon ‘X’.
The image surround will turn blue and a large cross will be
struck through the image. RECLAIM will now not include this
image and will not ask you to assess the image. If you change
your mind and want to include an image after all, just click
the blue cross button again and the image will return to its
default ‘grey state’ and will wait for your assessment.
Press the blue cross to discard an
item - it will not be deleted but RECLAIM will not ask you
to add metadata to it later.
