You can add images/video in a variety of
ways to the RECLAIM unit. Images can be added directly from
a digital camera, from a compact flash card, from a CD or
via a USB stick.
Please select from the following:
Reclaim is designed to locate the images/video
clipson your digital camera and to load them automatically
onto the screen so you can make your assessment. To add your
images and video clips follow the following procedure:
Boot up your RECLAIM unit. Make sure the
RECLAIM application is loaded and you have started the application
by pressing the ‘Enter’ button.
Turn your digital Camera on. If it has a
special mode for connecting to a computer make sure that it
is set to ‘on’.
Connect the USB cable for your camera to
the USB port on your camera.
Connect the USB cable to any one of USB ports available on
the side of your RECLAIM unit.

RECLAIM will now check the camera for images/video
clips and will load any that are available. RECLAIM is designed
to load JPG or PNG images from your camera. If RECLAIM has
loaded any of the images/clips before it will remember any
assessment you made in a previous session.
WARNING: Do not pull out the USB stick while
the images are loading. This may crash RECLAIM.
All the available images should now be loaded
into the RECLAIM interface if you have hundreds of images
on your Flash Card you may find that it may take some time
to load all the images. Use the scroll bar on the right of
the interface to scroll down the page and view all the images
currently loaded. RECLAIM will announce when it has finished
loading the images at the bottom of the interface.
Note: The latest Canon Ixus does not
load into RECLAIM straight from the camera. You should remove
the memory card and use a multicard reader - see "Adding
Images/Video from a Flash card" (below)
Reclaim is designed to locate and automatically
load the images on a flash card. To add your images for assessment
follow the following procedure:
Remove your flash card from your Camera.
Boot up your RECLAIM unit. Make sure the
RECLAIM application is loaded and you have started the application
by pressing the ‘Enter’ button.
If you have a Compact flash card you can
enter this using the card adaptor in the PCMCIA slot. This
can be found in the side of the laptop. Simply press the small
square button to the side of the PCMCIA slot where the adaptor
is loaded.

Older Reclaim units have a PCMCIA adaptor
ready for your compact flash cards
A longer tab will pop out. Press the tab
again to push out the card adaptor.
Insert the Flash card firmly into the card
adaptor.
Slide the card adaptor back into the PCMCIA slot where it
came from (there are two of them – either one will do)
If you have another type of flash card you
will need a different type of adaptor. For this we recommend
a USB multicard reader which is capable of accepting any type
of media card. This is the method to use if you have
been given one of the latest range of Canon Ixus 960 cameras.

RECLAIM will now check the camera for images/clips
and will load any that are available. RECLAIM is designed
to load JPG or PNG images or .avi, wmv video clips from your

while the images are loading. This may crash RECLAIM.

to follow the directory structure found on digital cameras.
