Capture
Orbital captures transport streams from DVB-S and DVB-T sources and saves them to disk. The raw stream is stored in a rolling buffer. Users can access programmes or clips from the stored transport streams and submit them to any number of powerful workflows.
Enrich
Orbital extracts EPG and subtitle data from the broadcast stream and uses it to create rich, searchable metadata records. Users can also add their own metadata and categorise their stored assets.
Archive
Programmes and clips from the original transport stream can be stored in a long-term searchable archive. Powerful workflows can create a wide range of proxy versions which can be used for
streaming and downloading across various platforms.
Share
Archived content can be accessed via the Orbital web interface. Users can playback video and audio, edit content and make collections in their own Orbital account. Playlists can be created
and shared with other Orbital users.
Orbital EVR and Imagen2
Orbital EVR integrates with Cambridge Imaging Systems’ Imagen2 Digital Asset Management
platform. Imagen2 provides a managed archive for o-air content captured by Orbital.
Additionally, a wide range of video, audio, image and document formats can all be added
to Imagen2 either individually or in batches.
At its heart, Imagen Client offers basic and advanced searches of your database and provides
full administrative control over metadata and media. Assets can be collected, shared, exported,
annotated and sent to any number of output workflows. Workflows are created using a simple
‘drag and drop’ interface and can be configured to store your original; create proxy versions;
send notification emails; ftp files to remote locations; output to DVD and much more.
