Imagen 2 - Digital Asset Management Software

Imagen2 - Make the most of your assets

Imagen2 has been developed to manage very large collections of media files for libraries and museums, commercial clip libraries, and photo, sound and film collections. It can be used by many users connected by local and wide area networks and Internet access can be provided to the general public as well as subscription and private users. The ImagenWeb module includes a commercial shopping basket system that is totally integrated with the Imagen2 workflow manager. Imagen2 is comprehensive, flexible and has been designed to integrate with standard third party databases such as MySQL, SQLServer and Oracle. Imagen2 is also integrated with the Adlib information management system for museums and libraries.

Imagen2 provides an effective way to manage all of your media assets from accession and ingest all the way through to browse, retrieval, output and distribution.

Key Features

  • Create your own workflows with a simple to use graphical interface. Imagen2 lets you take full control of your asset management system. you can create as many ingest and output workflows as your system requires. Set up a workflow to send an email when jobs are finished; automatically FTP files to remote locations; schedule jobs to copy across networks in down time. The powerful workflow editor tool puts you in charge of the system.

  • Create mezzanine formats from your high resolution master video, image and audio files. Automatically generate formats for distribution; add logos, rights notices, burned in time codes and metadata to your proxy files.

  • Manage all of your digital assets with one system. Imagen2 supports multiple media types (video, audio, images) and multiple formats. Imagen2 can manage all of your assets with a single database. You can even store multiple media items and media types in a single record.
  • Use your existing database with Imagen2. Support for widely available database management systems via ODBC means that your existing MySQL,SQLServer, Oracle or other ODBC compliant database can be used.

  • Integrate seamlessly with Adlib's information management systems. Imagen2 has a native plug-in direct to Adlib Information System's archive, library and museum management software.

Many of the features from the desktop Imagen2 application are also available in the web interface version - metadata updates; video edits; annotations; thumbnail overviews and lots more.

Construct your own workflows

Workflow schemas

A workflow describes the business and technical processes within your system. For example, when you ingest a new video file you will want to store the original and make proxy files to be used for playback across various platforms — the web, mobile phones and your local users.

With the Workflow Editor you can create workflows using a graphical interface. Simply drag and drop the processes that you want to feature in your workflow and set the parameters for each stage — do you want to overlay a logo on your Flash video? How many pixels wide should your JPEG image be? What is the bit rate for your MP3? Just add the job parameters using the workflow editor.

You can also set up workflows to handle output to DVD and tape, set up email notifications, and network distribution.

Imagen Media Control Centre

IMCC is able to manage an unlimited number of different workflows that are defined by schema saved on the server. A workflow schema is a set of instructions that define the passage of a job through the system. The schema may involve other Imagen modules, such as video or audio encoders, transcoders, decoders, file distribution and duplication.

IMCC is the central point through which Imagen modules communicate with your database.

IMCC provides a sophisticated storage management system that is designed to be robust, secure and very scalable.

IMCC provides open SOAP interfaces that can be used by client software to exploit all of the database, workflow and storage functionality. All data is transferred in XML format, and with the SOAP interfaces, it is possible to integrate Imagen very tightly with third-party applications and websites.

More Imagen 2 features:

Annotations

With Imagen2 you can add metadata directly to the image or timeline of your media. You can mark areas and add data and you can mark in and out points to define sections of audio and video files. If you need to make images anonymous or you need to remove copyright soundtrack from video you can fuzz and mute parts of your media. All annotations become searchable metadata in your database

Segmentation

Cut down long sections of video into smaller clips — perfect for segmenting bulletins or rushes. Top and tail your video files before ingesting. Automatically create 'child' metadata records with your segments.

Batch accession

Ingest hundreds of new digital files with just a few button clicks. Set up and save metadata templates with rules for batch entry — auto-increment numbers, concatenate fields, add default data, etc.

Collections

You can create personalised collections of records. Collections can be saved and sent to others as a simple email with a link back to your collection. You can use collections as a teaching aid, as a placeholder for clips that you are interested in, or as a marketing tool.

Real time updates

The Imagen2 Media Control Centre manages every stage of every workflow. You can see how your jobs are progressing with real time progress updates. You can even promote and cancel jobs to control throughput in the Workflow view.
