Cambridge Imaging Systems Ltd

Images can be acquired from image files, flat-bed and film scanners, digital cameras, TWAIN compliant devices, still video capture cards and Photo-CD.

Video can be acquired from tape - we can control most professional VCRs from an EDL or edit controller - or by converting or importing video files. Within Cambridge Multimedia Group we have the capability to convert or encode directly from almost all videotape formats all the way back to 2 inch!

The customised versions of our MediaEntry and DataEntry clients are optimised to reduce the handling and operator time involved with the acquisition of large scale archives of any type. We have many years of experience with photographic and video archives, both modern and historical.

Imagen server is used with a variety of storage types, including optical jukeboxes, Storage Area Network (SAN), RAID, Network Attached Storage (NAS) and simple hard discs. We have continually developed the software to take advantage of increases in capacity. Most video archives are now stored on Network attached Storage systems which are rapidly increasing in size. Storage farms of between 10TB and 50TB are very affordable and easy to manage.
