Go to the ‘MEDIA’ Page
Click on the thumbnail of an item and the
assessment page appears.
The metadata input fields are displayed
on the right side of the page.
The metadata provides descriptors for the
items being imported into the ImagenLite database. These
descriptors also are used to search and retrieve items from
the database.
They are also used to compile a report document
which is copied to disk along with the audio/visual items.
Care must be taken in adding metadata as
it will determine the ease with which items can be searched
and retrieved from within the ImagenLite database and the
information that is compiled within a report document.
Some fields may be marked as mandatory and
you will not be able to import an item until this field has
been filled in.
At the bottom of the data entry page, there
are a numbe r of buttons to speed up data entry. These may
change from version to version of ImagenLite depending on
the project schema you are working with. However, the buttons
are designed to offer the following general functions:
Set Defaults –
Having entered a set of metadata for a particular item press
this button, before pressing ‘ADD TO DISK VIEW’.
When you next select a new item to review and import this
entire set of metadata is automatically loaded into the metadata
fields at the start. Modifications can then be made on an
item by item basis.
Copy Last Notes –
Pressing this button the last ‘Notes’ entry made
to a previous item is added to the ‘Notes’ field
of the current item.
Copy Last Data Entry
–
Pressing this button all the metadata entries input for the
last item are loaded into the same metadata fields of the
current item.
